I am a Murri woman I was born in Goondiwindi, Queensland. My father was born in Kamilaroi Country. My mother was from Boggabilla. I have been living in the Wollongong area for the past 23 years. TAFE has bought me closer to my culture and spirituality, I have a great connection with my artist friends who are my dearest friends whichI see them as my family. Hopefully one day as a birth mother my children will endure the spiritual connection of the land the blood and the journey of my art.
I was inspired to further my education by a very special friend Mark Timbery. He told me to never give up, keep going - I am now finished my Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts TAFE at West Wollongong and have undertaken a role with Boolarng Nangamai as an arts development officer.
I am a painter and I paint on a spiritual level about the land and our ancestors that walked it. I have exhibited at Wollongong City Gallery, University of Wollongong as part of a print Red Hands show and Wollongong Court House. More recently I have exhibited my artwork in the Parliament house awards.
I have also completed several painting commissions for private and public art murals and teach my painting techniques to a many different people.
